This update of the Google search algorithm went live in September 2013.
Google Hummingbird closely examines search queries, in particular search phrases, in order to gain an understanding of the context and on that basis to provide the user with more specific results. Useful content was already an important factor of content marketing before this algorithm adjustment. However, with Google Hummingbird it has significantly more impact. The number of search queries in the format of complete questions is on the increase and it is thus advantageous to create unique content that provides answers, in order to increase the probability of appearing at the top of the search engine result pages.Glossary index
