The Story

Featuring productions, such as “South Park” and “Workaholics”, Comedy Central is the TV channel for people who love good humour. Following the US launch of Comedy Central in 1991, the channel now operates in 24 countries around the world.

When it comes to humour, Comedy Central and Crispy Content are on one wavelength. This is why we regularly support the team in the design and production of content for relevant events that have the potential to really crack people up.

Throughout the summer of 2014, even Comedy Central could not escape the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. After all, no other sports event has ever stirred up this much interest, especially on the social networks.

In preparation for the key sporting event of 2014, we started off by ordering our editors to spend a few night in front of the TV to get a different perspective of the world of football. It soon became obvious that football and comedy have much in common. There are more crackers in an interview with Jürgen Klopp or Thomas Müller than in a performance by comedian Mario Barth. All that was missing now was suitable formats for bringing the World Cup to the customers of A brief brainstorming session threw up the right ideas and we were ready to start production in time for the kick-off of the World Cup opening match between Brazil and Croatia. We produced image galleries featuring some of the most outrageous moustaches in football history, famous doppelgangers of the big football stars and a collection of the dumbest quotes.

Crispy Content supported the online editors of throughout the four-week tournament with the production of content that matched the users’ sense of humour and ensured strong viral distribution in the social networks. With our efficient content management, the client was able to sit back and relax.
