What is content?
Content is a generic term that involves many branches. It includes the development of context-related information conveyed in a visual, acoustic, sensory, or written format.
In marketing, we find content in the form of blog posts, websites, advertising banners, or social media posts. For marketing in particular, content often has the goal of engaging the customer to generate sales.

What is a content creator?
In digital marketing, a content creator is responsible for providing all the content necessary for marketing.
A content creator develops, produces, publishes, and markets blog posts, newsletters, social media posts, videos, e-books and much more. There are also differences between copywriters, graphic designers, and video producers. These roles require different skills, but are still a part of “content creation” in general. The definition of content creator is in constant change due to advances in marketing and technology. For example, up until 2017, content creator meant a type of online editor, but now the term has also been used as a name for Instagram influencers.
What is a content management system (CMS)?
A content management system (CMS) is software that can be used to create, manage, and update the content for websites or mobile apps without special technical knowledge.
The most common CMS is WordPress with a 62% market share. Typical WordPress competitors are Drupal, Joomla, or Typo3. These platforms are flexible and inexpensive, but have to be adapted for your particular needs.
Software such as HubSpot is geared more towards the needs of digital marketers and offer them many additional functions, such as contact list management, a CRM, a social media dashboard, email marketing, chatbot, analytics and more.
What does a content manager do?
A content manager ensures that the content produced (text, image, video, or graphic) is published in a finalized format, and is accessible on websites and mobile apps. Furthermore, they connect content with other suitable content to guide the user deeper into the conversion funnel. They also improve content, add platform-specific metadata and, if necessary, integrate the content into automated funnels, like in the case of email campaigns.
